Are you looking for a multifunctional computer for vehicles, especially one that can withstand the rigors of rail transport? Do you need something robust enough to withstand unpredictable outdoor conditions and an unstable power supply? Look no further: NEXCOM has refreshed its popular in-vehicle and rolling stock computer lineup with the new VTC 6232 and nROK 6232 series.

Powered by the latest Intel Atom® processor, these fanless computers deliver a winning combination of energy efficiency and robust performance across diverse transportation applications. Whether you require an in-vehicle platform (VTC 6232) or a railway-certified computer (nROK 6232), both are engineered for durability, packed with I/Os, and ready for expansion, making them ideal gateways and monitoring hubs in demanding environments.

Intelligent CPU selection

Keeping pace with the latest CPU technology is critical in transportation, where both reliability and efficiency matter. The VTC 6232 and nROK 6232 both adopt the quad-core Intel Atom® x7433RE processor (TDP 9W), offering long lifecycle support and optimized power consumption.

Built for harsh environments

The rugged, fanless design is tailored for outdoor and semi-outdoor deployments, incorporating direct feedback from end users. The VTC 6232 meets E-mark standards for in-vehicle systems, while the nROK 6232 complies with EN 50155 (class OT4) railway regulations. Both models conform to CE, FCC Class A, and MIL-STD-810H certifications for shock and vibration resistance.

Delivering exceptional operational resilience, the systems also feature a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to 70°C and broad voltage input (9V to 36V for VTC, 24V/36V for nROK). The VTC 6232-C4SIP further enhances durability with IP66-rated protection, making it ideal for telematics, traffic control, and other demanding outdoor deployments – including safety-critical and disaster management applications.

Flexible connectivity and expansion

Designed to meet the demands of modern telematics and monitoring, the VTC 6232 and nROK 6232 are equipped with built-in isolated CAN FD, TPM, and GPS (u-blox M9N). Four 2.5GbE PoE ports (802.3bt/af/at, total 90W) support high-bandwidth IP cameras, perfect for onboard and roadside video monitoring.

For storage, the systems offer dual external storage slots (supporting 15mm drives) and a soldered eMMC for the OS. The removable 2.5” SSD can store large video files, while the eMMC ensures stable OS performance. The VTC 6232 and nROK 6232 also feature three versatile expansion slots: Mini PCIe, M.2 Key B (3042/3052), and M.2 Key E (2230), perfect for adding 5G/LTE modules and AI accelerator modules such as Hailo.
