Compact Yet Mighty
NexCOBOT’s 3.5” board, the EBC 358 series, offers superb processing power, display performance, reliability, and efficiency, all in one compact package. Designed for next-generation 5G edge applications, it features Intel Atom® x6000E series processors that offer a 40% performance boost, rich I/Os, and extended temperature capabilities. This embedded motherboard also includes an HMI set for industrial automation and daily life applications. Supporting EtherCAT, it can increase production capacity and reduce defects while significantly lowering operational risks.
Steady as a Rock
The EBC 358 series of embedded motherboards are designed for industrial automation applications, with a temperature range of 0°C to 60°C, making them suitable for outdoor and semi-outdoor environments. With EtherCAT communication, they integrate easily without requiring factory layout changes, increasing efficiency while reducing operational risks and costs. To ensure reliable operation in harsher environments, NexCOBOT introduced the EBC 358X. With carefully selected components, design, and testing, it is suitable for temperatures ranging from -40°C to 80°C. Despite its small size, the EBC 358X is versatile and durable, making it an ideal choice for outdoor industrial applications. In addition, NexCOBOT offers wide-temperature thermal solutions for their customers by providing them with thermal simulation, cooling consultation, and hardware design services.
Intelligent Future of Automation
The EBC 358 series supports EtherCAT for connecting with slave drivers, driving motors, and receiving sensor signals. This enables actions such as generating 2D/3D graphics, laser engraving, and computer numerical control (CNC), reducing errors and waste. Similarly, in welding robot applications, operators can act as EtherCAT masters for faster, more efficient communication with slave drivers. Compared to Ethernet, this exclusive channel reduces waiting time and increases bandwidth.
Efficiency at its Finest
The EBC 358 series enables automatic and seamless grinding and polishing applications through an Ethernet connection between cameras, motors, and the control box. This 3.5” board facilitates communication between the control box and camera to determine the product’s grinding state, saving on labor costs. The collected data is then transmitted to the correction control panel for the operator to decide whether further polishing is necessary. With the ability to fully automate an environment without safety regulations, the EBC 358 series reduces costs and safety concerns while increasing output.
The EBC 358 series serves as both a robot controller and sensor information collector for industrial automation and daily life applications. Equipped with an enhanced CPU, triple display outputs for HMIs, practical expansion slots for LTE/5G network, and rich I/O interfaces, this 3.5” board can solve numerous manual labor problems. As we move towards digital transformation, the EBC 358 series brings us closer to an intelligent and automated industrial world.
