In delivering a variety of powerful in-train AI recognition and machine vision applications, the aROK 8110 offers powerful CPU-GPU combinations and extra PCIe 3.0 slots for discrete graphics, inference, or frame grabber cards. Its purposeful design protects components from adverse heat, power, and vibration/shock conditions. The AI inference accelerator also features advanced surveillance capabilities: just pair GigE, USB, or PoE IP cameras with ample, ultra-fast NVMe M.2/U.2 storage. The aROK 8110 is further equipped for complex telematics purposes while providing abundant storage for all of your data-intensive needs.

 

Put the AI in railway computing

The aROK 8110 was specially developed for AI recognition with your choice of 8th/9th Gen Core/Xeon® CPUs and top-of-the-line GPUs, such as the NVIDIA® GeForce® RTX 3090. For ultimate scalability, up to seven expansion slots (PCIe, mini-PCIe, and M.2) are also available. Maximize AI inference capabilities with the four PCIe interfaces, especially appropriate for additional GigE frame grabber (PCIe x4), USB 3.0 Vision interface (PCIe x4), and discrete graphics engine cards (PCIe x16). In conjunction with optional high-resolution GigE, USB, or PoE cameras, you can realize the potential of railway AI and intelligent surveillance in on-track safety (track obstacle/intrusion inspection, traffic light and sign recognition), in-vehicle safety (luggage monitoring, people counting, passenger load monitoring, abandoned object detection), and predictive maintenance (pantograph inspection) uses.

 

Safeguard and power up your GPU and PCIe cards

Premium graphics and PCIe card investments need protection against any adverse conditions that rolling stock can encounter, which is why we’ve implemented a special fixture design that ensures performance is always at its best.. GPU and PCIe cards are first fastened with screws to a bracket, which is then secured to the motherboard, operating at 2.0g @ 5 to 500 Hz and thus meeting IEC 60068-2-64 and MIL-STD-810G anti-vibration standards. We even support graphics cards up to 450W.

The aROK 8110 should be your pick for mobile surveillance uses, with the option to incorporate up to 12 independent M12 X-coded GbE PoE ports, with maximum output of 180W. But you’ll need ample storage for all of your streaming and recorded data: select your own combination of SATA 3.0, M.2 Key M, and U.2 NVMe SSDs/HDDs/CFast cards. We can specially provide U.2 NVMe drives, the ultimate choice for machine vision tasks due to their rapid transfer speeds. Hot-swapping and RAID 0/1/5/10 are also available for data continuity and integrity.

 

Thought-out temperature design

Our exclusive system design also includes smart fan and thermal dispatch elements. To save energy, the quiet yet reliable system and CPU fans all adjust RPM speeds based on internal temperatures. And for better heat dissipation while providing an extra layer of anti-vibration protection, we further built in a heat sink cooling system and copper pipe. With these special elements, the aROK 8110 is also compliant to EN 50155 OT4 standards and can operate normally within an operating temperature range of -40 to 70°C – but even up to 85°C for 10 minutes.

 

Pragmatic telematics

As an edge server for enhanced telematics, the aROK 8110 reduces latency by processing data locally. Decrease potential bandwidth costs: install 5G/LTE and Wi-Fi modems in any of the aforementioned expansion slots and quickly transfer high-quality video streams to the cloud for remote monitoring. The aROK 8110 also includes RS232/4222/485, USB 3.1, and CAN 2.0B ports to connect to other vehicular modules. Combined with onboard GNSS, it can even support GPS-based train approach alarm systems, thus eliminating the risk of vehicular collisions.
